Week 3 - Procrastination


Full time work sucks. 

Especially when you're attempting a project like this. To be honest, I chose this gamejam SPECIFICALLY because it would give me lots of time, even with working full time. But that doesn't change that it's still difficult. 

That said, I've been pouring through the tutorial I mentioned in the last Dev Log, SomeRanDev's RPGMaker series.  I'm on #18 - Autorun events. The last one was self switches, and the one before that was switches, which gave me a great idea of how to set up quest-chains. It was kind of lightning-inspiration actually. 

My husband, who was right next to me when I gasped about it, had this to say:
"Well, it's amazing what you learn when you DO THE TUTORIALS instead of trying to brute force your way through something, huh?"

He was joking, and we both had a laugh, of course, but he's right! 

That said, I haven't put much in the engine right now, I'm mostly doing background work. Kind of debating what I should do with the storyline. I know I'm aiming for these five things:



But I'm not sure if I'm gonna keep the right side portion. I need to work on how to get everything fit up to the bingo. 

That's pretty much it for this Dev Log.
